Application form for pottery classes

Fee structure:

  • First month is R600 which includes your brush on glaze, thereafter R530 a month. Your monthly fee includes your firings. A 10% increase will take place 1st of April each year.
  • Clay starts at R35 per 5kgs and underglaze paint from R25. All products can be purchased in class or the supplier details will be given if you wish to purchase directly from them.
  • If you wish to attend twice a week, the fee is R930 per month.
  • Pensioners discount applies. Valid ID required when applying.

Terms & Conditions:

  • Right of admission reserved.

  • ALL beginners and students who haven't done pottery in 6+ years are to do a 1/2 months beginners' course into the basics of pottery.

  • Payment is due before the 1st of every month. Late payments will be considered as cancellations. Consider a debit order if you wish to continue with classes for a long period.

  • All extras in class are to be paid cash in the first month, there after it will be added to your monthly invoice.

  • Tools and aprons are the studio's property and can be used by all students.

  • Tool kits can be bought at R140 for a beginner's kit and R200 for a sgraffito (carving) kit.

  • 1 Month or 30 days' notice is required when you decide to leave. Classes missed cannot accumulate to form a free month. Arrange to work them in within the next month.

  • 1 day or 24 hour notice is required when you can not attend a class. Not informing me or one of the other teachers will result in you losing the opportunity to work it in.

  • All work done for income or at home will be charged extra for firings & glazing.

  • Workshops held outside my studio are charged accordingly - not compulsory.

  • When working in class please be considerate and clean up after yourself. Leave your workspace as you found it.

  • Wash all tools and place it back in the containers where you found it.

  • Each student is allocated half a shelf; it is your responsibility to keep it tidy. If you use more than your shelf space your will be charged accordingly for extra space.

  • Firing of your work can take anything from 2 weeks to 2 months, depending on the size of your project and firing queue.

  • Neither Ck-ramics Pottery Studio nor any of the teachers are responsible for property that is lost, stolen or damaged on our premises.

  • Ck-ramics Studio will not be held liable for any injury, illness or death while on our premises.
